Databricks Ventures Invests in Muttdata to Accelerate Enterprise AI Across the Americas

July 28, 2026

Muttdata has received an additional investment from Databricks Ventures, the strategic investment arm of Databricks. After being named LATAM AI Enterprise Partner of the Year in 2025, Muttdata is deepening its work with Databricks through this follow-on investment from Databricks Ventures, sharpening its push to extend its North American footprint while continuing to grow in LATAM.

The new funding builds on Muttdata’s first round led by Resultiv Capital and reflects a shared conviction that enterprise AI succeeds or fails on its data foundation.

The relationship between the two companies has grown steadily over several years, and this investment reflects that ongoing collaboration. Muttdata is continuing to deepen its work with Databricks as both a strategic partner and technology platform, expanding its use of Agent Bricks, Lakebase, Unity Catalog, and the semantics layer, while also strengthening collaboration across engineering, go-to-market, and training.

Proven in the Field

AI is changing how companies run their workflows, and the firms that come out ahead will be the ones that can turn AI ambition into real business capabilities.

Muttdata has been building on Databricks since 2019, shipping solutions for companies in Latin America, and in the United States. These deployments put enterprise AI to work at a scale few firms in the region have reached.

In 2025, Muttdata made a decisive commitment to Databricks, making the partnership one of its top priorities. That meant certifying more than 70% of its staff in Databricks tooling — and building on years of hands-on work: building lakehouses, migrating clients off legacy platforms, deploying Genie and Agent Bricks, and even developing its own Brickbuilder solution. Increasingly, that work centers on the semantic layer, one of the most sought-after capabilities among enterprises adopting AI today. Using Unity Catalog and its business semantics, Muttdata gives clients' AI systems a foundation of governed, reliable data they can trust. The sum of those efforts is what earned Muttdata its AI Enterprise Partner of the Year title in 2025.

Muttdata's presence in the United States and Spanish Latin America is already well established, a footprint recently deepened by an investment from Resultiv Capital, Childs’ Capital Partners, and Founder's Advocate aimed at scaling across both regions. This extension round from Databricks Ventures builds on that momentum, sharpening the firm's ability to turn AI into measurable business outcomes for clients in those markets.

When the Market Catches Up to the Work

AI has become part of the critical workflows running across industries. AI agents now drive core database activity, and the right governance has become the foundation of production, with companies that adopt the right AI governance. That is the data foundation problem, and it sits exactly where Muttdata has built its expertise.

But scaling adoption takes more than a platform. It takes engineers embedded close enough to the business. Databricks began to refer to this phenomenon as forward-deployed engineering, a model in which success is measured by business outcomes rather than deliverables. It's how Muttdata has always worked. The firm's foundation is Data + AI services, modern data platforms, and applied AI systems, including deep specialization in MarTech and Retail Media: data-driven multi-touch attribution, decision engines, and client-owned capabilities that scale. This follow-on investment accelerates that work and brings it to more clients in more markets.

Backed by Databricks Ventures

“At Databricks Ventures, we invest in partners who expand what’s possible on the Databricks platform. Muttdata stands out for how effectively they bring data, AI, and governance together to drive real outcomes. This investment is about accelerating that momentum with customers across the Americas,” said Andrew Ferguson, Vice President of Databricks Ventures.

“Muttdata has been a strong partner in the region, combining technical expertise with a clear understanding of customer needs. This investment builds on an already productive relationship, and we look forward to continuing to work together to bring Databricks’ capabilities to more organizations across the Americas,” said Kori O’Brien, Senior Vice President of Global Partnerships at Databricks.

“Enterprises rarely struggle with AI ambition. They struggle to turn it into systems that run in production. I've spent my career on that problem. I started working with Spark back in 2013, and over the years, I watched Databricks grow from a promising engine into the unified Data + AI Platform we bet on early. Muttdata has been building on it since 2019, certifying our teams, developing our own Brickbuilder solution, and anchoring client AI on the governed data of Unity Catalog. This investment accelerates that work across the Americas, and we couldn't ask for a better partner to do it with," said Juan Martín Pampliega, CEO and Co-Founder of Muttdata.
